Baby Dish Dasha |
And I will call him, Mini-Muslim....
We had Big Buddy outfitted in the traditional Muslim Dish Dasha which is the white rob and the crocheted cap. He really loves to wear it. Strike a pose!

Please, have some coffee...
While waiting for Seyed my friend and his daughter Masa, we were offered the traditional Arab coffee. As you can see, it is four little tiny white cups that sit in a bowl of water. The coffee sits in the coffee looking container next to it. Now it is customary to pick a white cup and pour yourself a glass (no need to wash the cups ever!) Makes a man strong! The taste is very strong and like nothing I have ever tasted before (puts hair on your chest).

Quick, which way to the Mosque? |

Athletic socks not part of the traditional wardrobe |
Here are Big Buddy and Daddy sitting at Seyed's Falconry shop. My dress caused quite a stir, getting many strange looks, and a few questions about my religous affiliation. Seyed thought it was great that we came to our Daddy kid night all decked out in traditional garb. Big Buddy had a blast with it also. :)

Masa and Seyed, enjoying the street carnival |
We attended a street carnival, which was very much like a small county fair in the US. Went with my friend Seyed and his 3 year old daughter Masa. It is customary to give gifts here in the Arab culture. So Big Buddy made Masa a white "Hello Kitty" doll from the Build a Bear in the Mall. He decked it out with fashionable clothes, shoes, and a purse. At first Masa was a little bit shy and would not take the present...but after awhile, she became inseparable from it. :)

One looks a little crazy |
Masa was a little scared of Big Buddy. With faces like this and how loud he can be, it took sometime for her to warm up the the likes of Big Buddy and his big personality.
After all the rides, Seyed bough Big Buddy and Masa bubble guns. This put a big smile on Masa's face! The kids ended up having a blast in the end.
